Can I Opt Out of My Recipients Receiving a Credit?

Our Recipient Choice experience is designed to make gifting easy and flexible — both for senders and recipients. Here’s how it works now and what your options are if recipients don’t select a gift.

🎁 Recipients Have One Year to Claim Their Gift

When you send a Recipient Choice gift, each recipient has up to one year from the send date to choose their item.
During that time, their unique link remains active and can be used anytime to claim their gift.

🔁 You Can Resend Gift Emails Anytime

If someone hasn’t claimed their gift yet, you can resend the selection email right from your order page:

  1. Go to your order in your dashboard.
  2. Find the recipient’s name or email.
  3. Click “Resend email” to send them their claim link again.

This can be done as many times as needed during the one-year claim window.

💳 What Happens If a Gift Isn’t Claimed

If a recipient doesn’t make a selection within one year, their link expires automatically.
Once expired, the recipient will no longer be able to claim their gift — and no credit or refund will be issued.

🚫 Opting Out of Credits

Because unclaimed gifts now automatically expire after one year (with no credits or balances issued), there’s no need to opt out of a credit process — recipients do not receive any balance or store credit if they don’t select a gift within that period.

If you’d like to remind your recipients before their links expire, you can resend their claim emails anytime through your order page.

💡 Tip for Senders

  • Periodically check your orders to see which recipients have not yet claimed their gift.
  • Use the “Resend email” option to gently remind them before the expiration date.
  • If you believe a recipient’s email address was entered incorrectly, contact support for help updating it.
