# What is RecognitionDNA?

## Discover how you—and your team—prefer to feel appreciated.

**RecognitionDNA** is a personalized profile that helps your team understand how you *like to be recognized*—and gives you insight into others’ preferences too.

Not everyone feels appreciated in the same way. Some love public shoutouts; others prefer a quiet thank-you. RecognitionDNA helps teams give and receive recognition in ways that genuinely resonate.

### 💡 How it works

To set up your **Care Profile**, you’ll answer a few short questions. These create your **RecognitionDNA**, which includes preferences like:

- **Public vs. private praise**
- **Words of affirmation vs. tangible gifts**
- **Celebrating with the group vs. 1:1 moments**

Once completed, your RecognitionDNA is visible to anyone sending you a gift or eCard—so they can tailor how they recognize you.

🙌 It’s not a test or score—just a helpful guide to feeling seen and celebrated in your own way.

You can view someone’s RecognitionDNA when:

- Managing your contacts or recipient groups - Sending a gift or eCard to a teammate

- Viewing your team’s Care Profiles

Your own RecognitionDNA appears in your profile, where you can update it at any time.

### 🧠 Pro Tips

- Encourage your team to complete their Care Profiles early — RecognitionDNA is only visible to others once a profile is set up
- Use RecognitionDNA to guide onboarding gifts, milestone celebrations, and everyday shoutouts
- RecognitionDNA complements—but doesn’t replace—genuine, thoughtful messages
